Warm Moods

Ben Webster

27 October 2003
A member of Duke Ellington’s band of the 1940s, the Kansas City-born saxophonist first recorded with strings for the Verve label in 1955.  The only album by Webster for Reprise, 1960s’ Warm Moods, one of his finest recordings, features lush arrangements by Johnny Richards, and a string quartet.
