Brazilian international superstar singer and songwriter Milton Nascimento’s first solo project since 1997, Pietá includes new self-penned originals, as well as songs by Fernando Brant, Chico Amaral, Telo Borges, Lô Borges, among others, and  features beautiful string arrangements by Eumir Deodato.

Pietá features guest appearances by three young Brazilian singers: Marina Machado on ‘Casa Aberta’, and ‘Imagem e Semelhança’. Simone Guimarães on ‘Beleza e Canção’ and ‘Boa Noite’, and, last but not least, the participation of Maria Rita Mariano, daughter of the legendary singer Elis Regina and César Camargo Mariano, on ‘Voa Bicho’ and the beautiful ‘Tristesse’, as well as a cover of ‘Cantaloupe Island’, featuring Herbie Hancock and legendary guitarist Pat Metheny.
