The story:Written by Six Feet Under scribe Nancy Oliver, Lars and the Real Girl is a heartfelt comedy starring Academy-Award nominated Ryan Gosling as Lars Lindstrom, a lovable introvert whose emotional baggage has kept him from fully embracing life. After years of what is almost solitude, he invites Bianca, a friend he met on the Internet, to visit him. He introduces Bianca to his brother Gus and his wife Karen and they are stunned. Bianca is a life size doll and Lars treats her like she is alive. What follows is an emotional journey for Lars and the people around him.

The Composer:David Torn is a composer, guitarist, producer and whatnot of actual international stature renowned for his unique musical voice. His compositionally textural work has had material impact & influence upon both film scoring—through his own scores, in addition to his creative contributions to scores by Carter Burwell and Ryuichi Sakamoto, Cliff Martinez, Howard Shore, Mark Isham and others. David was educated by Leonard Bernstein and privately by John Abercrombie, Pat Martino, Paul Weiss, & Arthur Basile.
