Amado Borcela Guapacha recorded various numbers with Bebo Valdes's orchestra Sabor de Cuba before joining Bebo's son, Chucho Valdes's band. Guapacha sang scat influenced by Billy Eckstine, but with a form of expression that came from the Cuban guaracha. Among the numbers he made popular with his only LP from 1964 is Indestructible'. His career was in full swing, when he tragically died aged 32 in 1966. Shortly afterwards Chucho Valdes dissolved his combo, and joined the Orquesta de Musica Moderna; Line-up Paquito D'Rivera (sax & clarinet); Julio A. Vento (flute); Alberto El Men Giral (trombone); Chucho Valdes's (piano); Carlos Emilio Morales (guitar); Enrique Kike Hernandez & Luis Rodriguez (bass); Emilio del monte (drums).
