The Jazz Age: “it was an age of miracles, it was an age of art, it was an age of excess, and it was an age of satire.” F. Scott Fitzgerald
It was The Jazz Age and the age of the ‘lost generation’ of which Francis Scott Fitzgerald was the leader, with a legendary novel, The Great Gatsby.
On 15th May the film The Great Gatsby directed by Baz Luhrmann and starring Leonardo DiCaprio will open the 66th Festival of Cannes.
This album recreates the jazz mood of the 1920s, the speakeasy’s music, honky tonk piano, Dixieland orchestras and big bands.
All the great jazzmen and the great his of these ‘miracle’ years!
