Perhaps best-known as arranger for Frank Sinatra, Antonio Carlos Jobim, George Benson, and more recently Diana Krall, Claus Ogerman is featured on this recording from 1982 as composer, arranger, and conductor of a large orchestra, with featured soloist Michael Brecker. Beautifully recorded by the multi-Grammy®-winning engineer Al Schmitt, the album is both a sonic and musical delight. Brecker, who had been recording since the early ‘70s, doing large amounts of studio work and jazz sessions, appears for the first time as main soloist in an orchestral setting for an entire album.
