Thanks to this reissue music fans have a chance to re-discover the enormous jazz and swing talent of  Caterina Valente.

Caterina Valente In London presents twenty swinging up-tempo numbers along with moody and sensitive interpretations of lounge-jazz tracks. These were recorded in 1963 at the London Decca Studios with an orchestra of up to 30 musicians under the direction of UK conductor Johnny Keating. Keating had made a name for himself with compositions for Percy Faith, Andre Previn, Stan Keaton, Nancy Wilson and Shirley Horn, among others. His arrangements were performed by artists such as Bing Crosby and Sammy Davis Jr.

In 1963, when Caterina Valente decided to record her next album for Decca with Johnny Keating she was already a worldwide star. This album (released as Valente In Swingtime in England, as Strictly U.S.A. in the US and as My Souvenirs from the USA in Germany) was so successful that Valente and Keating went on to record two further albums Songs I've Sung On The Perry Como Show/Valente On TV in England in 1963 and I Happen To Like New York in 1964.
