Book Of The Blues

03 May 2004
Recorded in Hollywood in 1964 and produced by Nick Venet, the venerable Capitol Records A&R man/producer probably best known for his work with the Beach Boys, at a time when Fun, Fun, Fun was riding high on the Billboard Pop Singles chart, Book Of The Blues features charts by Onzy Matthews, who arranged and conducted for such luminaries as Ray Charles and Lou Rawls.  Heard here for the first time in 40 years are three bonus tracks, complete with fresh mixes: Blues For Fred, Please Send Me Someone To Love and Tobacco Road.  The lost Groove has been found!
