Bisso Na Bisso - Africa

Bisso Na Bisso

22 March 2010
1999's Racines, Bisso Na Bisso's debut album, sold 200,000 copies worldwide, and won Kora Music Awards in South Africa, presented by Nelson Mandela and Michael Jackson, for best African band and best video clip.
Bisso Na Bisso, which means 'Between Us' in Congolese is a hip hop collective of French-based Congolese musicians. Already known for their solo projects, Passi, Calbo and Lino d'Arsenik, the 2 Bal', M'Passi of Mel Groove, Ben-J of the Neg'Marrons and Mystik teamed up for a new rap project, deeply melodic and rooted in rumba, zouk, and soukous.
While their first album fused American hip hop with traditional world music, it also linked several generations of African musicians, with mythical guests like Koffi Olomide, Ismael Lo, Kassav, Papa Wemba, Tanya St Val and more.
Their new album, Africa, features stellar guests from around the world, like Manu Dibango (Cameroun), Sizzla (Jamaica), Zola (South Africa), Khaled and Cheb Akil (Algeria), Mayra Andrade (Capeverde), Angelique Kidjo (Benin), Ismael Lo (Senegal)
