Ramon Bebo Valdes and Israel Cachao Lopez are both legends of Cuban music. While Bebo, in 1952, led the first jam session of Cuban jazz to be recorded on disc, in 1957 Cachao took part in the classic Cuban Jazz Sessions in Miniature. Collected here are moments from their extensive and brilliant careers bassist Cachao, backed by a gigantic band that highlights his graceful playing and improvisation, pianist Bebo with a small line-up (Richard Egues on the flute, Generoso Jimenez on the trombone) or fronting his jazz outfit, which later became known as Sabor de Cuba.
Musicians Richard Egues, flute, Generoso Jimenez, trombone. Cachaito, bass, Tata Guines, percussion. Recorded in Havana 1959 / 1960.
