The founder and leader of legendary fusion group Passport, saxophonist Klaus Doldinger’s musical career began in Germany the 1950s.  Throughout the ‘60s he recorded as a leader for the Philips, World Pacific and Liberty labels, and in 1970, he assembled the legendary jazz-rock group Passport, recording an array of albums that featured his tenor, soprano, flute and occasional keyboards with an electric rhythm section. Nowadays, in addition to writing music for films and television in Europe, Klaus Doldinger continues his recording career, either through solo projects or with Passport.

Klaus Doldinger, now aged 67, who has always maintained an interest in new sounds and foreign influences, recently revisited Brazil. What he experienced there you’ll now find on Passport Back To Brazil, his new, (and if we counted right) 28th album, with his heart-and-soul formation, Passport.

The stylistic spectrum on “Passport Back To Brazil” goes from the elegiac ‘Moon Over Bahia’, the ballad, ‘Melancholia’, to driving jazz-rock sounds with masterly hooklines on “Bellydance”.
