New York Times chooses Aimard as a live event of the year

On 26th December, Anthony Tommasini chose his favourite live classical events of the year in the New York Yimes. Among them was Pierre-Laurent Aimard's recital at Zankel Hall in May 2004. Mr Tommasini stated, 'Two performances by pianists have stayed with me... Pierre-Laurent Aimard at Zankel Hall offered scintillating performances of works by Elliott Carter and a revelatory account of Ives's "Concord" Sonata.' Aimard's recording of Charles Ives's "Concord" Sonata, also released in May, has received international acclaim.
