Johnny Hallyday: Jamais Seul

Johnny Hallyday: Jamais Seul

It's like rock 'n' roll. Through his already long and eventful history, Johnny Hallyday has always come back stronger and more convincing every time. With a career spanning over 50 years, France's fully fledged rock 'n' roll star is still going strong.

If needed, this new album, Jamais Seul (Never Alone), would clearly prove it! This rock and blues album has a triumphant energy and an enthusiastic fervour.

From Financial Times, 24th February 2012

"The songs look back to his 1960s dalliance with harder-edged rock and R&B, back when he covered Jimi Hendrix and played with Jimmy Page. “Guitar Hero” is a tribute to “mon ami” Hendrix while “J’Inspire” is a dark bluesy number about mortality. Hallyday’s voice is at once gravelly and melodramatic, as if he were single-handledly wrestling the chanson tradition into le rock. There’s no trace of irony to be discerned; that, too, is the mark of un vrai rock-and-roller."
