Daniel Hope has been nominated for the South Bank Show Award
for Classical Music for his. On Thursday 27th January 2005, the ninth annual South Bank Show Awards will take place at the Savoy Hotel, honouring the UK’s most creative and popular artists in front of a star-studded audience. The awards, started by the series editor and presenter Melvyn Bragg, are unique in that they span the whole range of the arts in Britain. There are ten categories, covering Theatre, Film, Dance, Classical Music, Pop Music, Opera, Literature, Comedy, Visual Arts and TV Drama.
The full list of nominees for this category are: Birtwistle Games at the Royal Festival Hall (which featured two performances by Warner Classics artist Pierre-Laurent Aimard); Stephen Hough for his Rachmaninov recordings and Daniel Hope for his Berg and Britten Violin Concertos recording.
